Sir,
I have the honour to enclose, for the informa-
tion of the Secretary of State, a copy of a letter
which we have received from the Kercantile Bank of
India Id informing us that securities to the nominal
value of £30,000 have been deposited at the Bank of
England in the names of the Permanent Under Secretary
of State and ourselves on account of the Denk's note
isque in Hong Kong.
2.
We are reporting the receipt of the
securities, by telegraph, to the Government of Hong
Kong, in the absence of instructions in the matter.
